We believe that complex projects don't need complex tools. Vimpl was built to bring clarity, visuality, and fun back into project management.
From a frustration with spreadsheets to a visual revolution.
Vimpl started as a side project by Kristian Steen, a software engineer and product enthusiast based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Frustrated by the rigidity of traditional Gantt charts and the chaos of physical post-it notes falling off walls, Kristian set out to build a digital solution that felt as flexible as a whiteboard but as powerful as a database.
What began as a simple grid for organizing tasks has grown into a comprehensive visual planning suite used by teams to track risks, manage sprints, and visualize KPIs in real-time.
Simple leadership over complicated management.
We believe projects succeed through clear leadership, not complicated management disciplines. The best way forward is keeping your eyes on the ball, working hands-on with your team, and creating real momentum that everyone can feel.
Clear communication starts with clear visuals. When everyone can see the same picture, alignment happens naturally. Visual boards cut through ambiguity and keep teams focused on what matters.
There's power in hands-on interaction. When you can touch, move, and physically engage with your work, commitment deepens. The body remembers and adapts alongside the mind – tactile engagement creates lasting change and genuine ownership.
Great project leadership includes everyone. We deliberately avoid complicated terminology that excludes non-technical team members. Progress should feel accessible to all, regardless of background.
Real progress isn't measured in process compliance – it's felt in genuine accomplishments. We design for that feeling of forward momentum, where teams can see and celebrate what they've achieved together.
